So as some people have noticed, I've got a new costume now. It needs a bit of work. Luckily I found a guy who came highly recomended. Jessie Melero is a very talented artist who was able to airbrush my costume last night. Already it looks 10 times better. I'll be posting up pics soon of what he was able to do in a short amount of time, but seriously, if you live in the South Florida area, check him out, he can add a great touch to any costume.

So I'm in a mad rush to try and get things done for Halloween. Haven't been able to take pictures, will soon promise. More than one has been asking what I've used for patterns. There all freehand. I'll try to get some patterns up once I get everything done. Still have so much to do. But its drawing near the end, so thats good.

Will be working on a secret project soon, not my normal stuff. I'll post when I get close to finishing it.

I need more time.

Holy crap I got a lot done (or started, or nearly done, etc) this weekend. For lists purposes:
Iron Man helmet prize for mizucon 80% done
Rescue Armor thighs built
Pattern for lower half of rescue armor made
Falcon sanded, primed, dremeled, bondoed, painted
9 and a half hour game session


So yeah, lot of stuff done, still a lot more to go.

Started work on the Rescue armor, which has been presenting some unique challenges, such as say no one has built the damn thing before.

Kidding 2 people have. Not using the same materials and look completely different from each other.... So handmaking patterns havent ever really been my strong suit, but its going suprisingly alright once I can figure out exactly how much foam eats up on a bend.

This weekend is Mizucon, two weekends after is dragoncon. Time is a tickin.

So, with Iron Man finished (I thought I'd never get done, probably still not once I bother to get into fiberglass,) I needed to work on a new project.

Actually needed to, I guess after working 8 hours everyday on something for 6 months, kinda changes a person.

So now I'm building the Dark Knight armor. This will be a pretty quick build actually, I expect it to be ready before end of year.

I was also asked to do a charity event at a hospital this weekend, I couldn't turn it down. I did turn down the offer to get paid however, that just didn't seem right.

I do have however, a paid photoshoot next weekend, kick ass.

Sorry if this all seems disjointed, I've had very little sleep in the past few days, weither it be work or watching the Dark Knight Rises.

Saw the new Nolan movie, I...enjoyed it, for the most part. I've always been a huge Batman fan, so I guess I'm harder to please than others, I didn't terribly like TDK like everyone else did. I'll only watch this one maybe once more and thats it, I don't want to sit there and start taking it apart.

Hopefully I'll have some updates with more work on my new outfit, we'll see how that goes.

So Supercon went by. Could it have been a hotter weekend? Seriously my suit started to melt while standing outside to have a smoke. It was hot, tiring, taxing, dehydrating.... and I loved every minute of it. Getting to see the kids geek out over the suit, getting to take pictures with them, it was worth it.

I didn't win best in show. C'est la vie, the person who did deserved it, he had an awesome costume and even made one for his kid. I did however win best prop, so I'm happy I got recognized at least.

I am now in repair mode, there was a lot of damage to my costume after just one day of wearing it. once I'm done with that there is a paid gig I'm doing, lets hope it turns out well.

Afterwards, I hope to have a decent version of Gambit made up, with WIP shots before dragon*con, and after that.... Batman.

Also there may or may not be the chance I'm going to be build a Ninja turtle anytime soon. Just.... letting people know.
